New School of Pharmacy Faculty Member Hunmin Jung

Hunmin Jung, Ph.D., has joined the School of Pharmacy as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Hunmin Jung, Ph.D., has joined the School of Pharmacy as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Jung is a structural biochemist with broad expertise in several research areas, such as organic synthesis, X-ray crystallography, transcriptional regulation of genes controlling glucose homeostasis, and more recently DNA repair and bypass.

Jung is originally from South Korea, where he received formal training in chemistry. He also holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Texas A & M University and conducted postdoctoral training from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  He comes to UConn from University of Texas – Austin College of Pharmacy where he completed a postdoctoral appointment.
