New Faculty Member Jennifer Luciano to Lead the Office of Experiential Education

Jennifer L. Luciano, Pharm.D. has joined the UConn School of Pharmacy as director of experiential education.

Jennifer L. Luciano, Pharm.D. has joined the UConn School of Pharmacy as director of experiential education.

UConn School of PharmacyLuciano earned her Pharm.D. degree from UConn in 2007 and completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Shenandoah University and Amherst Family Practice in Winchester, Virginia. Upon returning to Connecticut, Luciano joined the team at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center as a clinical pharmacist. In 2011, she joined the University of Saint Joseph as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice. During her time as faculty, she specialized in mental health and maintained a practice site in behavioral health at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. During her five years as faculty, she taught a wide range of courses including, psychiatry, neurology, immunizations, immunology, and an elective in substance abuse. In 2016, Luciano accepted the position of coordinator of experiential education and shortly thereafter in 2017 she was promoted to director of experiential education.

Luciano comes to us with vast experience in experiential education and career development for pharmacy students.  She values her ability to interact with every student enrolled in the school and plays an integral part in helping them to experience the expansive range of career opportunities within pharmacy. She is actively involved in the New England Regional Departments of Experiential Education (NERDEE) consortium.
