Retirement
Monica van Beusekom, director of the Individualized and Interdisciplinary Studies Program and the University Scholars Program, will be retiring from UConn on June 30, after 16 years of leadership in enrichment programs. She is a nationally recognized leader in the field of individualized and interdisciplinary studies. In addition to her direct teaching and mentorship of countless students, van Beusekom’s legacy will include substantial improvements to both the individualized major and University Scholar Program.

David McChesney, 80, of Storrs, Conn., a business reference librarian at UConn Storrs for 27 years. on June 4.
Beverly Michaud, 85, of Hampton, Conn., a retired administrative assistant, on June 5.
