A team of UConn pharmacy students finished in first place at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) National Student Pharmacist Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Competition. The competition took place on Wednesday, March 22, in San Antonio at the AMCP annual meeting.

UConn was the best of 45 pharmacy schools who participated and the five who advanced to the finals. UConn beat out the University of Florida, the University of Minnesota, the University of Southern California and the University of Washington in the finals.

The winning UConn students were Angela Su, Ryan Shan, Ryan Moreau, and Molly Csere (from left to right in the main photo).

The competition is an annual team event designed to provide an immersive experience in the skills necessary for effective formulary review and management.

A special thanks goes to Christina Polomoff, the faculty liaison for UConn’s AMCP chapter, and the managed care advisors who helped make this experience possible: Joseph Honcz, Andrew Cournoyer, Daniel Shan, Jeffrey Casberg, and Glen Smyth.
