Dr. Trisha Bailey, a UConn graduate, will be the commencement speaker for the UConn School of Pharmacy’s Pharm.D. class of 2023 on Sunday, May 7th. Trisha owns 15 companies, has 20 years of medical field experience, and recently gifted UConn the largest cash contribution ever received from an alum. Her gift will significantly support the construction of a student-athlete performance and academic support center. The facility will be named the Bailey Student Athlete Success Center in honor of her generous contribution.
Trisha lives in Orlando, FL but was raised in East Hartford after moving from Jamaica. She graduated from UConn’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1999 and went on to earn an MBA and Ph.D. in organizational leadership. During her time at UConn she was a successful student-athlete and was actively involved with Student Support Service.
Drawing on her UConn education and experiences, Bailey has achieved remarkable success as an entrepreneur. Among her many accomplishments, she has founded several companies, including Bailey’s Pharmacy, Bailey’s Medical Equipment and Supplies, Bailey’s Scrubs, Bailey’s Real Estate, Bailey’s Ideal Choice Homes International Real Estate Division, Bailey Charitable Foundation, and Serenity Ranch.
Bailey’s Pharmacy and Bailey’s Medical Equipment and Supplies, both family-owned businesses, are dedicated to providing compassionate and quality care. They serve assisted living facilities, group homes, individual patients, and contract facilities. Their mission is to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical products and services.

Trisha will also be receiving an honorary degree for her outstanding work in the Pharmacy field.
Janet Kozakiewicz MS, Pharm.D., FASHP will be the B.S. commencement speaker. Dr. Kozakiewicz previously held the position of Pharmacy Director at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was responsible for overseeing the PGY2 Residency Program in Health System Administration and the ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. She is currently serves as a School of Pharmacy advisory board member, is a mentor for the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy Leadership Track and holds positions as Treasurer for HAVEN-CT and Vice-Chair for the ASHP Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission.

Dr. Kozakiewicz has a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut (1979), a Pharm.D. degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and a M.S. in Healthcare Management from Rensellear. She is also a Fellow of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
