Each year, the UConn College of Engineering inducts individuals, who have had profound impacts on the field of Engineering, into our Academy of Distinguished Engineers.  Since 1983, we have paid special tribute to individuals in two categories:

  • Distinguished Professional Achievement Award – Alumni: Recognizing exceptionally distinguished alumni whose career achievements are of an enduring seminal nature.
  • Distinguished Engagement Award – non-alumni: Recognizing dedicated individuals who have made dramatic and enduring contributions to our School

On our 40th anniversary the Academy introduced a third honor:

  • The GOLD Rising Star Award: Celebrating two outstanding young alumni who graduated less than 10 years ago and have shown a significant influence on the engineering field.

2024 marks the 41st year that the College will induct new members into the Academy of Distinguished Engineers.  Please assist us in identifying superb nominees for these awards; self-nominations are also welcome.

To nominate a candidate, please complete your nomination via this link – https://s.uconn.edu/engr-academy-nomination by February 15th, 2024.
