Sobieraj earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Hartford Hospital and UConn’s School of Pharmacy. In her role as Director of Assessment, Sobieraj oversees the programmatic and curricular assessment of the PharmD program, as well as the School’s strategic planning process and monitoring. She collaborates closely with the Institutional Assessment Committee and the Curriculum and Curricular Assessment Committee to supervise the assessment activities of the school. Her scholarship focuses on the assessment of student competence within the Pharm.D. program, and she remains actively involved in teaching drug information courses in the didactic Pharm.D. curriculum.

Prior to her role in assessment, Sobieraj scholarly interests were centered on comparative effectiveness and health outcomes research, with a notable track record of securing over 2.5 million dollars in funded research and publishing more than 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including prestigious publications in journals such as JAMA and Annals of Internal Medicine.

The Rufus A. Lyman Award is presented annually to the author(s) of the best paper published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education.
