The University of Connecticut will test its emergency notification and alerting system, UConnALERT, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 12:25 p.m., on all campuses.

The test involves multiple messaging platforms. A notice will be posted on the UConn Alert website (alert.uconn.edu); an email will be sent to all students, faculty, and staff; and posts will appear on the University’s Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter) accounts.

In addition, cellphone numbers registered with the UConnALERT system will receive text messages. On the Storrs campus only, outdoor sirens will be tested with an audible tone.

This test includes emergency notifications at UConn Health in addition to the Storrs and regional campuses.

In an actual emergency, information will be updated regularly through the UConn Alert website at alert.uconn.edu.

Students, faculty, and staff should visit this site to register for cellphone text alerts, update their contact information, and obtain information related to emergency procedures and campus safety.

Thank you for your cooperation during the exercise and your support of public safety initiatives at UConn.
