Achievement
School of Nursing assistant professor Mallory Perry-Eaddy, in-residence professor Tiffany Kelley, and assistant professor Gee Su Yang, will be inducted as 2025 Fellows into the American Academy of Nursing this fall. Their extensive expertise will enrich the thought leadership of the over 3,200 Academy Fellows who together advance the Academy’s mission of improving health and achieving health equity by impacting policy through nursing leadership, innovation, and science.
The fall-winter issue of Wrack Lines, the official magazine of the Connecticut Sea Grant College Program, has received an Award of Excellence in the 2025 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. The award comes three months after the issue was selected as a Silver Award winner in the 2025 ACE Critique and Awards Program. The issue highlights the personal essays of six youth who were awarded Connecticut Sea Grant writing scholarships and given the opportunity to share how they view their relationship to nature.
In Memorium
Louise Bailey, 90, of West Hartford, Conn., who served as a member of the Board of Trustees for 45 years, the longest tenure in UConn history, on July 15. She received the University Service Award from the Alumni Association and was later honored by the 100 Years of Women Committee. She was awarded the Gerald N. Weller Award from the Division of Student Affairs, recognizing her many contributions over the years to UConn students.
Sandra Swanson, 88, of Wolcott, Conn., a former employee, on July 8.
Chris Warran, 41, of Willimantic, Conn., who coached the UConn club wrestling team, on June 30.
