Kaitlyn Anderson, of the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills, and Sally Chamberland, of the Office of Program Assessment, have been named recipients of a 2026 Blackboard Catalyst Award in the category of assessment and institutional effectiveness. Presented annually by Blackboard, the Catalyst Awards celebrate institutions and individuals around the world who are using Blackboard solutions to drive meaningful change in teaching, learning, accessibility, engagement, and institutional success.

Dr. Christopher Conner, a neurosurgeon at UConn Health, has been named a 2026 Healthcare Hero by the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA), in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to patient care and his commitment to improving lives. The annual Healthcare Heroes Award recognizes exceptional healthcare professionals whose work has made a significant impact on patients, communities, and the healthcare field. Conner was among a select group of healthcare professionals from hospitals across Connecticut honored during CHA’s Annual Meeting on June 11.

Jessica de Perio Wittman, director of the Thomas J. Meskill Law Library and Cornelius J. Scanlon Scholar at UConn Law, has received the 2026 Joseph L. Andrews Legal Literature Award from the American Association of Law Libraries. The award honors works that demonstrate originality and make meaningful contributions to legal scholarship and law librarianship. de Perio Wittman was recognized for “Organizational Structures of Academic Law Libraries Past, Present, and Future (Volume 3).”  The book explores how academic law libraries are adapting to changes in higher education through 10 case studies from across the United States.
