The Academic Affairs Subcommittee of the UConn Health Board of Directors recently approved the recommendations for promotions for three faculty members in the School of Dental Medicine.

Promoted to Professor
Dr. Pooja Bysani, Department of General Dentistry
Promoted to Clinical Associate Professor
Dr. Jonathan Feldman, Department of Orthodontics
Promoted to Clinical Associate Professor
“I congratulate Drs. Bysani, Feldman and Schmidt on their respective promotions,” said Dr. Steven Lepowsky, dean of the School of Dental Medicine. “This well-deserved recognition is a reflection of continued excellence and achievement in teaching, research, scholarship, patient care, service and outreach.”
“I express my appreciation to the members of the Senior Appointments and Promotions Committee (SAPC), chaired by Dr. Mark Litt, for their conscientious and rigorous review of our faculty and their accomplishments,” the dean continued.
Faculty eligible for promotion are nominated by their respective department chair and undergo a rigorous review process that involves the School of Dental Medicine’s Senior Appointments and Promotions Committee, along with approvals by the Dean’s Advisory Committee, Lepowsky, and the provost. The board of directors give the final approval.
