The University of Connecticut has launched a new centralized hub for reporting concerns or potential policy violations at report.uconn.edu. The report site provides a clear starting point for anyone looking to submit a form, with information on reporting options and available support. This new service replaces inform.uconn.edu.
The report site is designed to be used by faculty, staff, students, and community members at UConn Storrs; all regional campuses; and UConn Health. Life-threatening emergencies and urgent building and grounds concerns, such as active flooding, gas leaks, or structural failures, should still be addressed by calling 911.
UConn is committed to fostering a culture of compliance, which includes encouraging a reporting culture. Providing an avenue for individuals to share concerns regarding potential violations of policies and the law allows the institution the opportunity to address potential wrongdoing and strengthen processes and systems.
“A centralized system available to everyone in the UConn community ensures that issues and concerns have a clear, accessible place to be reported,” says Associate Dean of Students John Armstrong. “It creates a consistent process for raising concerns, strengthens accountability, and helps ensure that no issue is overlooked simply because someone didn’t know where or how to report it.”
The site clearly explains the categories of issues that can be reported and walks the user through the process they can expect. Its useful filtering tool makes it easy to find the right reporting form for any situation.
It also features links to relevant University resources, such as the UConn Student Code, the on-campus housing contract, the outdoor activities policy, the religious accommodations policy, and the nonretaliation policy.
The report site also allows users to make general maintenance requests to the Facilities Operations area.
“We don’t want anyone scrambling to find out how to tell someone and get the support they need when something is wrong,” Armstrong says. “Now, all they have to remember is report.uconn.edu.”
