Honor

Dongjin Song, an associate professor of the School of Computing in the College of Engineering, was recently awarded senior member status by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). AAAI is a leading international organization devoted to advancing research and education in artificial intelligence.

Retirement

Lisa Roberts, of the Office of the Vice President for Research, after 30 years of dedicated service to the care and welfare of animals at UConn Storrs, effective Jan. 1.

Dolores Carron, 83, of Newington, Conn., a former clinical instructor of dietic students and interns, on Dec. 16.

David Daniels, 86, of Enfield, Conn., a former basketball coach and athletic director at UConn Hartford, on Jan. 4.

Richard Garrett, 92, formerly of Storrs, Conn., a former head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and later a researcher and developer of the Precision Manufacturing Corporation, on Dec. 4.

Sharon Kuta, 82, of Oklahoma City, Okla., a retired UConn Health employee, on Dec. 26.

Marilou Taylor, 100, of Amherst, N.Y., a former office manager in the Office of Financial Affairs, on Dec. 24.

Terry Webster, 87, of Storrs, Conn., a retired professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology who taught for over 30 years, and long-time chair of the Greenhouse Committee, on Dec. 18.

Stephen Utz, 78, of West Hartford, Conn., the Roger Sherman Professor of Law on the faculty of UConn Law for almost four decades, on Dec. 9.

Mary Ann Wueke, 67, of Plainville, Conn., a former employee in maternal fetal medicine at UConn Health, on Dec. 13.
