Students and faculty alike are enjoying learning and teaching in the new classroom building, which opened this semester.
The building, the first of two to be constructed under the UConn 2000/21st Century UConn program, includes two auditoriums that seat 200 and 400 people, and 17 classrooms that seat between 25 and 70 students each.
At the dedication ceremony last month, Jeremy Teitelbaum, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, said, “It’s a setting in which students and faculty can concentrate on the business of teaching and learning, and where they can take advantage of electronic technology that improves their classroom experience.”
The new building also includes many environmentally friendly and sustainable energy features.
The second building is expected to open in the second half of 2012.
