Welcome back everybody! One Student. One Story begins the spring semester with another remarkable student, Chi Anako, who is a senior majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology. In addition to her heavy course load, she volunteers for community outreach and leads a program for a local shelter in Willimantic. She works as a tour guide on campus, as well as a Resident Assistant in the Public Health House Living and Learning Community.  Community service is deeply laced into Chi’s lifestyle. Her parents taught her the value of helping others, and she hopes to convey that message to her peers.

Chi’s love for UConn is evident through her heavy involvement and her passion for her job as a tour guide. She explained to me how she enjoys telling visitors about the great opportunities UConn has to offer. I understood where she was coming from. One of the reasons why I love producing these videos is because I am able to showcase some of the great academic and extracurricular programs we have on campus. As a senior, I feel as though this school has guided me through my college career so well, and I’m able to give back to the university by illustrating its value through my videos. It is wonderful to see students like Chi take advantage of these programs and help them evolve even further.
