On Saturday, April 8, 2006, the University held its annual spring Open House for students who have been admitted for the fall 2006 semester and their parents. During the day-long event, visitors had the opportunity to visit academic programs of interest, visit residence halls, hear student life presentations, and participate in admission sessions.

The School of Engineering welcomed over 270 incoming students from throughout the region, along with their parents. Following a brief overview of the School of Engineering by Erling Smith, Department Head of Civil & Environmental Engineering, the students and their parents dispersed to view demonstrations and presentations by faculty and graduate students from the five engineering departments and several programs. The overview presentation may be viewed here (URL not available).
