Alums & Friends Celebrate Autumn with Golf

On Sunday, October 17th, a group of engineering alumni, Advisory Board members and faculty enjoyed a gorgeous autumn outing at the scenic and celebrated Lake of Isles golf course in North Stonington, CT.

On Sunday, October 17th, a group of engineering alumni, Advisory Board members and faculty enjoyed a gorgeous autumn outing at the scenic and celebrated Lake of Isles golf course in North Stonington, CT.

Among those hitting the links were Engineering Advisory Board members Douglas Shidler (B.S. Electrical Engineering ’83), VP of Army Programs at Sikorsky Aircraft; David Carter, VP of Engineering Technology at Hamilton Sundstrand; Joel Douglas (B.S. Civil Engineering ‘77), co-founder and CTO of eGen LLC and Heidi Douglas (CLAS ’77), managing partner with Nuventus LLC; and Peter Halvordson, VP of Engineering, General Dynamics Electric Boat.  Also joining the party were George Geaney (B.S., M.S. Mechanical Engineering ’72 and ‘80), Director, Nuclear Services Group of MPR Associates; Peter McFadden (B.S., M.S. Mechanical Engineering ‘54 and ’57), professor emeritus, former Dean of Engineering, and his wife, Shirley McFadden; Dean of Engineering Mun Y. Choi, Associate Department Head of Mechanical Engineering Mike Renfro, Department Head of Mechanical Engineering Baki Cetegen, and Director of Engineering Development Christopher Joliat.

The group topped off their 18-hole afternoon with dinner at the course restaurant.
