Kentwood D. Wells, professor and head of ecology and evolutionary biology in CLAS, installs an exhibit of magic lanterns and a 19th century image projector, drawn from his collection, in the Dodd Research Center Gallery. Invented in the 17th century, the magic lantern is the predecessor of modern slide and movie projectors. The exhibit runs from June 20 through Sept. 30. (Suzanne Zack/UConn Photo)
