Smokey the Bear Visits Child Care Center

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, members of the UConn Fire Department gave a safety demonstration at the Health Center’s child care center Thursday.

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, members of the UConn Fire Department gave a safety demonstration at the Health Center’s child care center Thursday. Lieutenant Wendell Cote showed them what a firefighter in their gear looks like and explained what firefighters do when they get a call from a family who needs help. Acting Captain Tirrell Cox gave the children a tour of a fire truck and special guest Smokey the Bear offered fire prevention tips.
