Calhoun Stepping Down, Ollie Named Head Coach

Jim Calhoun, who built UConn into a three-time NCAA champion and a perennial national power, has announced his retirement as the men's basketball coach.

Jim Calhoun, who took over a regional program at UConn 26 years ago and built it into a three-time NCAA champion and a perennial national power, has announced his retirement as the UConn men’s basketball coach at a press conference at Gampel Pavilion this afternoon. He is succeeded as head coach by Kevin Ollie, former assistant coach, Husky student-athlete, and 13-year NBA veteran.
