Alumnus Matthew DeBacco '07 (CANR) brought his state record-holding 1,766 pound pumpkin to campus this week.

UConn alum Matthew DeBacco '07 (CANR), '11 stopped by the Storrs campus Monday with his 1,766.5 pound pumpkin. It is the heaviest pumpkin in New England this year and now holds the Connecticut state record. The Daily Campus reports that DeBacco fed the pumpkin 80 gallons of water a day, and it gained 40 to 50 pounds a day during its peak.
