Young Breast Cancer Survivor Thanks UConn Health Docs

Abbie O’Brien, the mother of three young children, is grateful to the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center team for helping her successfully battle the disease.

When 37-year old Abbie O’Brien first discovered a lump in her breast two years ago, she was in no rush to see her doctor. “I guess you don’t really think you can get breast cancer that young,” explained O’Brien.

But O’Brien did have breast cancer and she needed a full complement of aggressive therapies to treat it. The Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center’s breast team guided her through every step of the process.

The West Hartford mother of three young children is now a cancer survivor and a grateful patient to the UConn Health clinicians who treated her.
