Junior Charlotte Veitner tied former Olympian Tracey Fuchs for second on UConn field hockey’s all-time points list on Sunday, as the No. 3 Huskies picked up a big 5-1 road win over No. 9 Boston University.

With her 12th goal of the season, Veitner ties Fuchs with 178 career points as a Husky and is only 36 points away from overtaking Lauren Henderson as the top point scorer in program history.

Last week, Veitner, of Dusseldorf, Germany, set a new single-game scoring record with six goals in an 8-0 win over Virginia, and was named the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week. Her six goals and 12 points against Virginia are both program records for a single game by a UConn field hockey player.

Veitner, a 2015 First Team All-American, led the nation in scoring in 2015, recording 39 goals and 21 assists for 99 total points.

The Huskies (9-0, 2-0 Big East) remain undefeated this season. After nine matches, UConn has outshot opponents, 156-53, and outscored opponents per game, 4.56 goals to 0.89 goals.

Four different UConn players scored against the Terriers at BU.

The Huskies return to action on Wednesday when they host UMass at 4 p.m. (ET), a team they beat 2-1 back on Sept. 9.
