Nature-Inspired Art Exhibits at UConn Health

The art exhibits of Pamela Bramble and Suzan Scott will be shown at the Celeste LeWitt Gallery at UConn Health until June 8, 2017.

Pamela Bramble is a painter whose work is represented in public and private collections and has been reviewed by The New York Times, The Hartford Courant, Hartford Advocate and Art New England.  Her awards include the President’s top honor for her paintings exhibited at The Gregg Galleries at Gramercy Park in NYC and a University of Connecticut research travel grant to study 14th century frescoes in Italy – images that serve as a foundation and inspiration for much of her work. Bramble earned her MFA in painting from Columbia University and has been a professor at the University of Connecticut since 1989. Her teaching specialties are drawing, painting and art appreciation. In addition to teaching, she gives talks to groups and associations in Connecticut, juries art shows throughout the state and has served as moderator of artist talks and discussions. Between 2010 and 2015 she was the Coordinating Director of The ARTS Project curating exhibits for the Whitson Gallery and The Brick Wall Exhibition Space located on the university’s Torrington campus.

Suzan Scott is a painter who lives in the northwest hills of Connecticut and exhibits her work throughout Connecticut and the northeast. Her work explores the qualities of color and abstraction in nature. Scott is a member of the Washington Art Association, the Canton Artists Guild, and the Artspace New Haven Artist Directory. She has exhibited in solo and group shows across the state for over 25 years. Her work has been shown in galleries, private schools, colleges and universities, including EBK, John Slade Ely House, Slater Museum, New Britain Museum, Yale ArtSpace Gallery, Homer Babbidge Library at UConn Storrs. She has participated in City Wide Open Studios in New Haven since 2002, showing at Erector Square and Alternative Space venues. Last year Scott was invited to participate in Blue Mountain Gallery’s Annual Invitational Exhibit in Chelsea, New York.
