UConn Health was a proud sponsor of the recent Greater Hartford Go Red for Women Luncheon and Wellness Showcase. The event drew hundreds of women and men including heart attack survivors, health care professionals, and those who support women’s heart health. UConn medical and dental students provided screenings, smoking cessation and dental information, and much more to educate women about their risk factors for heart disease. The Marketing and Multimedia Services team added a fun, social media component to the event by encouraging attendees to take a “healthy selfie” and to post it on Facebook or any other social media channel. Many of the selfies ended up displayed on a billboard on I-91 during the event.
