Senior Charlotte Veitner ’18 (ENG) has gathered a wealth of records and awards during her time in a Huskies uniform and on Oct. 6, she made history once again as UConn’s all-time career goals leader.

With a goal in the 15th minute against Big East foe Villanova, Veitner tallied her 98th career goal, passing Lauren Henderson’s 97 (2001-2004), for the top spot in the record book. The senior posted an additional two goals in the outing, finishing the night with 100 career tallies.

Veitner is now up to 103 total goals, following a hat trick at No. 14 Princeton on Oct. 8. Across the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Veitner becomes just the 12th player in Division I to eclipse the 100-goal plateau.

Through 82 career games, Veitner has notched 103 career tallies for eighth overall on the NCAA Field Hockey Division I all-time scoring list. Additionally, she ranks first in career goals scored among all active Division I players across the country.

This season, Veitner has helped guide UConn to an impressive 13-0 record and the No. 1 ranking in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll for five straight weeks. The senior is currently second in the nation in points per game (4.08) and goals per game (1.58), while leading the Big East in points (49) and goals (19).

On her way to this prestigious accomplishment, Veitner has notched an additional handful of program records. In her career, the forward is boasting a program-high 15 hat tricks to date, while her 99 points (39 goals, 21 assists) as a sophomore are a single season program best. She holds UConn’s single game record for goals (6) and points (12) against Virginia in 2016, and set a Big East record of 10 points (3 goals, 4 assists) at Villanova in 2017.

After surpassing the program record of 97 goals, Veitner now holds UConn’s top spot in points (268), goals (103), and assists (62).
