Inspire: A Choir for Unity will perform their on-tour concert, Don’t Shoot, Just Listen, September 16th at 3:00pm at von der Mehden Recital Hall at the University of Connecticut.

Don’t Shoot, Just Listen commemorates all those lost to gun violence and seeks to inspire unity and peace. The event will support Sandy Hook Promise, a national non-profit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Their intent is to honor all victims of gun violence by turning their tragedy into a moment of transformation by providing programs and practices that protect children and prevent the senseless, tragic loss of life.

The hour long choral concert will be immediately followed by an opportunity for all in attendance to share thoughts, feelings, and experiences casually over refreshment. The event is open to the public.

Inspire seeks to foster a more just society by championing the work of community partners, encouraging audience engagement, and cultivating impassioned and excellent artistry.
