Why did you choose UConn?
I chose UConn because I loved the communal environment in the Drama Department.

What’s your major and why did you choose it?
I am a Theatre Studies major concentrating in Arts Administration and Dramaturgy with a minor in English. I chose this major because it allows for a lot of flexibility within the major while providing a rigorous and quality education.

Who was your favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor, throughout my years at UConn, was Lindsay Cummings. She sparked my interest in Dramaturgy through incredible discussion and a vast amount of knowledge. She has also been a fantastic advocate for students within the Theatre Studies program.

What was your favorite class and why?
Exploration of Acting with Helene Kvale was one of my favorite classes I took while I was at UConn. Although I am not an acting major, I created some of my strongest friendships in this class and I’m very grateful for the experience.

What are your plans after graduation?
I’m planning on attending the National Theatre Institute for a semester, concentrating in acting. Further down the line, I’m planning on going to graduate school to study acting.

What’s one thing that surprised you about UConn?
How much I had to walk.

What’s your favorite thing about UConn?
Ice cream and friends!

What activities were you involved with on campus?
I’m extremely involved in Connecticut Repertory Theatre.

What’s one thing all UConn students should do during their time at UConn?
Watch a sunset on Horsebarn Hill.

How has UConn prepared you for the next chapter in your life?
Because I have experience in many aspects of theater, due to the drama program, I feel as if my knowledge in theater is well-rounded and will give me the opportunity to pursue a job in many different theatrical elements.

What’s something you learned in a class that you’ll always remember?
It’s ok to say no.

What were some of the things you had never done before you came to UConn?
Act and work for a professional theater company.

What is one thing that will always make you think of UConn?
A 24-Hour Play Festival and styrofoam heads.

What’s something good about UConn that not many people know?
There are so many student-run events and performances that are meaningful and free!

Any advice for incoming first-year students?
Make friends outside your major!
