Did you know, four in five of us will experience some type of back or neck pain sometime in our lives? While narcotics are an option for managing pain, they’re certainly not the only option. Dr. Joseph Walker and Dr. Durgadas Sakalkale, two physiatrists in the UConn Musculoskeletal Institute, explain that there are several categories of pain, each with its own set of approaches to manage. The solutions are individualized, and narcotics are not on the table as a general practice.
