It’s easier than ever to get comprehensive health care in the heart of Simsbury.
On June 13 a celebratory ribbon cutting at UConn Health Simsbury officially opened its new, larger home at 836 Hopmeadow Street (Route 10), Simsbury.
The new location which started caring for patients on May 8, combines the services offered in the previous Avon and Simsbury locations plus some new ones, so patients can get the care they need in one convenient location. This new location provides an additional 4,300 square feet of health care space.
“UConn Health has been in Simsbury now for two decades and counting, and we’re happy to have this new space, which enables us to offer even more services,” shared Dr. Bruce T. Liang, UConn Health Interim CEO. “Having a presence in the community beyond our main campus in Farmington is crucial to our public service mission. All of us at UConn Health are here for you and your family. Being able to offer a growing variety of clinical services here improves access to care in Simsbury.”
UConn Health Simsbury services have expanded from primary care and cardiology to now include:

“It took our UConn strategy and vision to move this spectacular facility to a reality, along with a team of excellent people to create a fantastic site. But it is also about being part of this Simsbury community that is critical,” shared Anne Horbatuck, RN, Chief Operating Officer, UConn Medical Group (UMG) and Vice President of Ambulatory Services at UConn Health. “Vision, team and community. UConn Health is here to meet the needs of our patients, and our community, and we look forward to serving you here at UConn Health’s new Simsbury location.”
State. Rep. Melissa Osborne of the 16th District who serves Simsbury also spoke at the event.
“It’s great to have the UConn Health facility right here in the heart of Simsbury,” shared Osborne.
Also, Lee Urdmann, Interim Town Manager of Simsbury, showed his support of UConn Health at the event sharing his pride of being a University of Connecticut alumni. Other Simsbury town officials included Amber Abbul, Board of Selectmen and Jackie Battos, Zoning Commission.
In addition to local legislators, local Simsbury business owners also came to the ribbon cutting event in support of UConn Health along with its faculty and staffers.
