Meg Shah ’24 (CLAS) discusses how her Summer Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF) Award is helping her research and ultimately create a historical distribution map of eelgrass in the Long Island Sound which will be used to find locations with higher success rates for its restoration. Among many things, eelgrass is a critical habitat for fish, it filters water, and it stabilizes the shoreline. (Video by UConn)
