Our incredibly talented and hardworking Marching Band is a vital part of the UConn game experience for both fans and student athletes across multiple sports and venues. The university is disappointed that the band will not be performing at today’s game. Its director decided that the Marching Band would not attend the game due to illness among a sizeable number of students in the band, concerns about traveling together in light of that, and other factors. However, this was done unilaterally without consultation with key campus partners, which is an issue that has been addressed. The Marching Band will continue to attend and perform at future games as they always have at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field and the Pep Band will continue to perform at Gampel Pavilion, the Toscano Ice Forum, and the XL Center.
