To the University Community:
We are deeply pained by the ongoing suffering we are seeing in Gaza and Israel. Members of our UConn family are in the region and our thoughts are with them.
Here on our Connecticut campuses, many others are directly or indirectly impacted and profoundly worried. As your leaders, we are writing today to the entire UConn community to reiterate that our top priority is ensuring that each of you feels heard, safe, and supported.
UConn is and will continue to be a place where every member of our community is valued, can engage in constructive dialogue, and feels safe and free from intimidation. If you believe you are being threatened or harassed, please contact the UConn Police Department. If you feel you are a victim of bias or discrimination at UConn, utilize UConn’s bias reporting system.
This is a time for empathy and compassion; we need to support each other. Today and in the days and weeks ahead, we will do all we can to ensure our UConn community stands together and focuses on our shared humanity.
Leading with love and joy for all,
