Dear Colleagues,

As part of the university’s ongoing commitment to align our operations with evolving institutional needs, we are launching a series of organizational assessments focused on key administrative areas: business and administrative support functions, communications and marketing, and information technology.

These initiatives come at a pivotal time. We must act strategically to make the most of our resources, deliver essential services efficiently and effectively, and position the university for long-term financial stability and success.

To guide this work:

  • The assessments of business and administrative support and communications and marketing will be led by The Segal Group, an external consulting firm with expertise in organizational design in higher education. Segal has extensive experience working with colleges and universities on operational effectiveness and long-term institutional capacity.
  • The assessment of IT functions will be led internally by Ted Laskaris, Consultant and Interim CIO, drawing on their understanding of systems, structures, security and compliance requirements, and the needs of the campus community.

Each effort will actively engage a group of stakeholders through one-on-one and group interviews with several staff from across the university to inform the recommendations as we work to strengthen our operations and make thoughtful changes to how we organize and deliver services.

As part of The Segal Group engagement, employees whose job classifications are being reviewed will receive a follow-up communication no later than Wednesday, Aug. 20 with more information, ensuring you have the details you need about the process.

We are committed to maintaining clear, transparent, and collaborative communication throughout this process. A dedicated website will serve as the central resource for staying informed about these initiatives including the scope of each assessment, anticipated timelines, and opportunities for engagement and feedback.

Thank you for your continued dedication and service to the university.

Sincerely,

Radenka Maric
President
