Achievement

Na Li, an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, has been awarded the 2025 National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and Education (NIPTE) Rising Star Scholarship Award for her outstanding performance and contributions in the pharmaceutical field. This NIPTE award is given annually to an early career investigator for outstanding scientific achievements in pharmaceutical science and technology.

Xiuling Lu, associate director of the Center for Pharmaceutical Processing Research and a professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, has been awarded the 2025 Michael J. Pikal NIPTE Distinguished Scholar in Pharmaceutical Processing Award for her outstanding performance and contributions in pharmaceutical sciences. This NIPTE Award is the highest recognition every two years presented to a senior faculty member at a NIPTE member institution.

John O’Leary, an employee in the Office of the Bursar, will be presenting his research detailing the incredible true story about the survival of a Mercedes-Benz from World War II today at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury.

Loraine Patrick, 95, of Willimantic, Conn., a retired 22-year employee of the copy center, on Aug. 17.

Joan Pier, 91, of Columbus, Ga., a retired computer center employee, on Aug. 22.

Lisa Sanetti, 47, of Simsbury, Conn., a professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, on Aug. 12.
