Dear Colleagues,
We are writing to update the campus community on the organizational assessment led by Segal and to offer our sincere appreciation to everyone who participated in the informational and small group interview sessions. Your insights and ideas are essential to this assessment’s success.
From the initial launch of the initiative in August through October, Segal gained a deeper understanding about the organization’s business and administrative support, and marketing and communications functions through:
- Over 80 small group interview sessions with approximately 325 registered participants
- Three group feedback sessions for faculty, department heads, and associate deans with approximately 65 participants
- Engagement with several university leaders in both group and one-on-one conversations
- Visits to each regional campus and the School of Law
Additionally, more than 150 employees attended the informational sessions offered by Human Resources. This level of engagement from our employees is a defining strength of our university.
Segal is now in the final stages of the analysis phase, reviewing what they heard from employees and leaders and mapping out key themes and recommendations related to areas being reviewed.
Segal has shared with us that the input from employees provided a clear picture of what is working well, where pain points and bottlenecks exist, and what changes would help them do this work more efficiently, effectively, and with better support and opportunities for employees.
We expect to begin sharing findings and proposed next steps with the campus community early in the spring semester, including opportunities to attend briefings on the results, ask questions, and provide further feedback.
We are truly grateful for the time, candor, and thoughtfulness that staff and faculty have brought to these conversations, and for the ongoing commitment of all employees to this effort to build stronger, more effective ways of working across the institution.
Sincerely,
Lakeesha Brown
