This year’s Health, Safety and Environment Fair, held the day before St. Patrick’s Day, had a green theme, highlighted by collections of recyclable material and an option to switch to a residential electricity provider that uses renewable energy sources.

Held in the UConn Health Center’s Food Court, the fair also included blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, information about the state’s Health Enhancement Program, a chance to sign up or recommit to the Just Move fitness program, vendors, raffle prizes, a Jeopardy challenge game, a cat food drive, and new this year, a Bioscience Connecticut booth with an employee quiz.

Dr. Paul Skolnik, Department of Medicine chair, and Dr. David McFadden, Department of Surgery chair, hosted this year’s opening ceremonies. Both are new to the Health Center since last year’s fair.
