We applaud Ms. Sandra Crosthwaite, Executive Assistant for the School of Engineering’s Dean’s office, who was presented the 2009 Outstanding Staff Service Award for her dedication and exceptional performance in carrying out her varied duties. Sandy began her career with UConn in 1992 and progressed through positions of increasing responsibility leading up to her current position. She is responsible for all financial and personnel-related matters and provides mentorship and training to administrative staff members throughout the School.

Dr. John C. Bennett, Jr., Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, remarked, “Sandy is one of the key people for the School of Engineering – both in terms of past history and in terms of procedures and paperwork appropriate for various interactions within UConn and beyond. “She certainly is a worthy recipient of the award for this year.” The selection committee chose her from among a very impressive pool of nominations.”
