Secure Systems and Supply Chain: Focus of 2nd CHASE Workshop

The Center for Hardware Assurance, Security and Engineering (CHASE) will hold its second annual workshop on April 9-10, 2014 at the Storrs campus. Security professionals are encouraged to attend at no cost, according to CHASE Director Dr. Mark Tehranipoor, the Charles H. Knapp Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering.

UConn Engineering Projects Receive CTNext Funding

Two demonstration initiatives proposed by the School of Engineering, aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial businesses and invigorating the manufacturing sector throughout the state, will receive grant funding from Connecticut Innovations (CI). Dr. Anson Ma Participates in US-Japan Faculty Exchange Program

Dr. Anson Ma recently participated as a delegate in a prestigious U.S.-Japan Young Scientist Exchange Program that allowed him to spend five intensive days visiting top Japanese universities and research centers, where he presented his research on the rheology and processing of nanofluids and met with fellow young researchers whose expertise may complement and extend his work.

Dr. Robert Gao Receives I&M Society’s 2013 Technical Award

Pratt & Whitney Endowed Chair Professor in Mechanical Engineering Dr. Robert X. Gao has been selected to receive the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (I&M) 2013 Technical Award, one of just four awards presented yearly by the society.

Technology Transfer Center Launches Safety Circuit Rider Program

With funding from the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Connecticut Technology Transfer (T2) Center at the University of Connecticut launched the Connecticut Safety Circuit Rider Program on November 1st. The T2 Center is an educational outreach program within the School of Engineering's Connecticut Transportation Institute.

Dr. Quing Zhu Awarded $1.43M NIH Grant

Dr. Quing Zhu has received a four-year, $1.43 million grant from the National Institutes of Health in support of her research aimed at predicting the effectiveness of preoperative or neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) used in treating advanced breast cancers.

Q-Bridge Reconstruction: Learning Experience
