Much-Needed STEM Teachers are Focus of Accelerated Certification Program Expansion

To help meet the national demand for teachers in science, technology, engineering, and math, the Neag School of Education is expanding its accelerated teacher certification program to the Avery Point campus.

Research has shown that students of teachers who participate in National Writing Projects such as this make significant gains in writing performance.

Team Works to Improve Agricultural Productivity

Drs. Leslie Shor (CMBE) and Dan Gage (MCB) recently received two grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The two cross-disciplinary projects focus on different aspects of microbial activity in soil, leading to a better understanding of soil microbial activity that could inform agricultural management techniques.
