Four UConn School of Medicine faculty were elected on May 28 to the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering (CASE) at the Academy’s 44th Annual meeting and dinner.

The medical school’s newly elected CASE members are:

  • Dr. Emily Germain-Lee, chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes and professor of pediatrics
  • Dr. Se-Jin Lee, Presidential Distinguished Professor in Genetics and Genome Sciences and also a professor at The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine
  • Dr. Annabelle Rodriguez-Oquendo, Linda & David Roth Chair of Cardiovascular Research and professor of cell biology
  • Dr. Riqiang Yan, chair and professor of the Department of Neuroscience

These UConn medical school faculty are among the 2019 class of 24 newly elected members from the state’s leading experts in science, engineering, and technology.

Interestingly, almost one third of this year’s newly elected members are faculty researchers at UConn Health or UConn. This brings the total number of CASE regular members from UConn and UConn Health to 118.
