Dr. Richard Besser, ABC News’ Chief Health and Medical Editor, delivered the address at the UConn Health commencement ceremony on May 12. Sharing advice he solicited from his followers on social media, he told the new doctors and dentists, “Being able to sit down with a patient is an incredible privilege. With that privilege comes responsibility – to truly listen.”

In an additional clip from the speech, Besser describes an emergency C-section he performed solo in a remote village in India.
