SNY Spotlight Shines on Geno Auriemma This Month

Auriemma discusses being hired at UConn, the great players he has had, and the importance of family.

Hall of Fame coach Geno Auriemma talks about being hired to lead the Huskies women’s basketball team, what it was like during the greatest winning streak in all of collegiate sports, and the great players he has had at UConn during the latest edition of “SNY Spotlight,” the signature interview series that features in-depth interviews with the most influential leaders in sports and entertainment.

The 30-minute program will air on SNY several times over the next three weeks:

Feb. 14 at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 16 at 9:30 p.m.
Feb. 19 at 4 p.m.
Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 24 at 9:30 p.m.
March 4 at noon.

SNY is available on cable systems throughout Connecticut and the New York region.

Host Gary Apple delves into a number of topics with Auriemma, including the significance of coaching the Olympic team, and the importance of his family and the impact of losing his father. Auriemma also discusses his relationship with UConn men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun, as well as with rival coach Pat Summitt of the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team.
