UConn Health Center Introduces 6 Physicians

A plastic reconstructive surgeon, nephrologist, vascular surgeon, dermatologist and two cardiologists are now seeing patients.

Meet six physicians who recently joined the UConn Health Center and are now seeing patients.

Dr. Amir Nasir
Dr. Amir Nasir

Dr. Amir Nasir is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with expertise in general plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as additional training in cosmetic surgery. He offers body contouring procedures such as thigh lifts, arm lifts, tummy tucks, liposuction, and breast surgeries, as well as post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. He also has experience in a treating facial and hand injuries as well as burns, skin cancers, and congenital deformities. Nasir joins UConn from private practice in Chicago and after several years in practice in upstate New York. His medical degree is from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he also completed a six-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery. After residency, Nasir did fellowship in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at Boston University. Additionally, Nasir has a master’s degree in public health and tropical medicine from Tulane University in New Orleans. He is seeing patients in Farmington and Storrs.


Dr. Ruchir Trivedi
Dr. Ruchir Trivedi

Dr. Ruchir Trivedi is a nephrologist with expertise in hypertension and blood-pressure-related kidney disease. He also specializes in dialysis, medical management of hypertension and lupus-associated kidney disease. Trivedi is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology, and holds a designation as a specialist in clinical hypertension. His postdoctoral training includes both a residency and fellowship at the UConn Health Center, and his medical degree is from the N.H.L. Medical College of Gujarat University in India. He has additional postgraduate training and qualifications from the Sheffield Kidney Institute at the University of Sheffield in England and the Royal College of Physicians in the U.K. He is seeing patients in Farmington.


Dr. Agnes S. Kim
Dr. Agnes S. Kim

Dr. Agnes S. Kim is a general cardiologist who provides care to patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, congestive heart failure, and those who have undergone heart surgery and interventional procedures. She has expertise in noninvasive cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MRI, and vascular ultrasounds. She has a particular interest in the cardiac care of patients who have undergone cancer treatments. Kim received her bachelor’s degree at Yale College. She received her medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Yale-New Haven Hospital, specializing in noninvasive advanced cardiovascular imaging, while earning a Ph.D. in investigative medicine. She is seeing patients in Farmington and Storrs.


Dr. JuYong Lee
Dr. JuYong Lee

Dr. JuYong Lee is a specialist in interventional cardiology, endovascular intervention and vascular medicine. His areas of expertise include coronary intervention, peripheral vascular intervention, vascular medicine and structural heart procedures. Lee joins UConn from the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston, where he completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology. Prior to that, he also was trained at the Yonsei University Severance hospital in Seoul and practiced in interventional cardiology in South Korea. He completed residency training at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, Mass., and is a graduate of the Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine in South Korea. Lee’s postdoctoral training also includes a basic research fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at St. Elizabeth’s. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He is seeing patients in Farmington.


Dr. Adam Cloud
Dr. Adam Cloud

Dr. Adam Cloud is a vascular surgeon with expertise in deep vein thrombosis and post thrombotic syndrome treatment as well as central venous stenosis, chronic venous insufficiency, and the entire spectrum of peripheral arterial disease. Cloud received his medical degree from the University of Vermont. He completed his general surgery training at SUNY Buffalo and performed a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Connecticut. He is seeing patients in Farmington.


Dr. Frank Santoro
Dr. Frank Santoro

Dr. Frank Santoro is a dermatologist and graduate of the UConn School of Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at the Harvard Medical School in Boston and in dermatology at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He returns to the UConn Health Center with clinical interests in general dermatology, autoimmune disorders of the skin and mucosa, inpatient dermatology, and difficult-to-treat skin conditions. Santoro is an associate member of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is seeing patients in Farmington.
