The UConn Office of the Vice President for Research has awarded the 2021 Convergence Awards for Research in Interdisciplinary Centers (CARIC) to associate professor of medicinal chemistry Marcy Balunas.
CARIC awards provide interdisciplinary teams with up to $150,000 for planning, outreach to strategic partners, and proof-of-concept research activities. This developmental funding allows UConn researchers to bid to major federally funded initiatives like research centers and awards.
This seeding funding will allow the team to explore the role of metals in host-microbe interactions.
