UConn students danced their hearts out this past weekend at the annual 18-hour HuskyTHON and raised $1,340,670.68 to benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Patient families from CCMC also were part of the event, including “miracle children” who have received treatment at the hospital. Each child was matched up with a student team. The dance marathon, which started in 2000, has developed into New England’s largest student-run philanthropy effort and has multiplied its fundraising 100 times over since the inception.
