Profiles in Research: UConn’s 2021-22 NSF CAREER Award Recipients

Eleven UConn faculty members earned National Science Foundation Early Career Program Awards during the 2021-22 academic year. Here are their stories about their research and what led them to UConn.

In a milestone year for UConn Research, 11 faculty members received National Science Foundation Early Career Program awards. This shattered a record for UConn and placed the University among the top research institutions in the country in the number of CAREER awards received.

The Office of the Vice President for Research has written profiles for the 11 UConn faculty members to earn NSF CAREER Awards during the 2021-22 academic year.

Beyond the prestige and significant funding that come with the honor, the awards recognize the great potential of UConn’s early career faculty in their roles as educators and researchers. These faculty members are passionate about their fields as well as imparting their knowledge on the next generation of scientists, engineers, doctors, artists, and professors.

UConn’s 2021-22 CAREER award recipients represent a wide array of disciplines and three different schools or colleges within the university. They also traveled their own unique paths that led to Storrs or UConn Health in Farmington.
