UConn Sustainability and Climate Town Hall 11/2/23

University leaders will hold a town hall meeting on November 2 to discuss UConn's commitment to sustainability, clean energy, and climate change

UConn’s commitment to sustainability, clean energy, and battling climate change to secure a better future here and around the world is a core value that informs many of our operational and academic decisions.

Please join President Maric, Provost Anne D’Alleva, and several key faculty and staff members on Thursday, Nov. 2, for a town hall meeting on sustainability and climate to discuss these important topics, including ways in which UConn is working toward its goals to be carbon neutral by 2030 and carbon zero by 2040, as well as to hear from leading UConn researchers in the fields of clean energy, sustainability, and the environment.

The town hall starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, in McHugh Hall, Room 102, on the Storrs campus. It will also be available for viewing via livestream at:

President Maric and Provost D’Alleva will be joined on the panel by:

  • Xiao-Dong Zhou, director of the UConn Center for Clean Energy Engineering and special advisor to the president on sustainability;
  • Joseph Fullerton, director of the UConn Office of Sustainability;
  • Stanley Nolan, interim associate vice president for facilities operations; and
  • Michael Willig, UConn Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor, executive director of the Institute of the Environment, and director of the UConn Center for Environmental Sciences and Engineering.
