Laurencin, a University Professor, UConn Engineering Professor, and Albert and Wilda Van Dusen Distinguished Endowed Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, has received the 2021 Hoover Medal, a prize jointly given by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers; American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers; American Society of Civil Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, which administers it.
