Golf Tournament Benefit Set for June 4

The Students First Fund Golf Tournament will benefit students who experience unanticipated hardship.

Students First Golf Tournament logoThe second annual Students First Fund Golf Tournament will be held June 4 – during Alumni Weekend – at the University Club in North Windham.

Last year, more than 100 UConn faculty, staff, and alumni turned out for the first tournament, which raised more than $14,000 for the Students First Fund. The fund provides limited financial or logistical support to students who experience an unanticipated hardship that threatens to derail their education.

The tournament features a scramble format that begins with a four-person shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The event is presented by SimplexGrinnell, with support from other area corporations. The registration fee is $125, which covers 18 holes of golf, a cart, and a buffet dinner after the round. There also will be a silent auction. The deadline to register is May 21.
